Lime Crime Venus II Palette review + swatches!

Ola amigos!

Sorry I don't speak Spanish whoops... Anyway, I'm back today after 3 months of inactivity? I'm so sorry for the lack of updates! I had my End of Semester examinations and then I went overseas for service learning! I just returned about two days ago and I haven't touched makeup yet! I wanted to get palette reviews out there because I'm testing some new liquid lipsticks I got recently!

Venus II is a palette I've been using for about half a year now? (approx.) I feel like I have finally gathered my thoughts and am ready to share my LOVE for this palette!

Limecrime Venus II
I feel like I may be part of the weird bunch of people (if they even exist, for that matter) that actually fell in love with this palette more than they did with the first Venus palette! I don't know what it is about the colours in this palette? They just click so well, and they are colours that I wouldn't think of putting together if I first saw them. But when I looked at this palette it was love at first sight! Let's hop into the details!

I purchased this from, yes you guessed it, Carousell! For those of you that don't know, Carousell is a platform where you can sell and purchase items! Since Limecrime is not readily available in Singapore, I went to a retailer to purchase this palette! The retailer provided me with everything that I needed to confirm it's authenticity! (If you are purchasing outside their website and authorised retailers, please do this) I bought it for SGD55! It retails for USD32 on the Limecrime website, which you can find here (As at 26/09, it is Sold Out)! On to the palette!

Front
The front of the palette (and basically the exterior) is gorgeous! I believe that is a picture of the Roman Goddess of love, sex, beauty and fertility! (I'm reading this off google so don't take my word for it) The palette is made of expensive feeling cardboard with a magnetic closure!

Back

The back of the palette has Venus II printed in caps and the ingredient list + additional info! In the palette, you are getting NET WT. 0.564 OZ/ 16.0g, which is the total quantity of all 8 shadows! This product, as with all Limecrime products, are certified vegan and cruelty-free, so if you dig this shit, you'll love Limecrime! It has a shelf life of 24 months, but it's not like anyone really cares about it lol (just kidding... or maybe not) Hopping into the interior!

The interior of the palette is very normal! Just a large-enough mirror! The shadows are laid down on a cardboard with marble background!

On the Limecrime website, it states that 'A follow up to the cult-favorite that spearheaded the reddish-brown eye trend of 2015 year, VENUS2 is the darker sister who slays with 8 full-size, recklessly pigmented eyeshadows that will take your makeup game to the next level.' Let's see if the claims are true! (Shade descriptions taken from website!) *Shades with asterisks are my personal favourites!

swatches L-R: Pigeon, Filter, Marsh, Mustard
*Pigeon (Pearl): Brown/green shift. Very pigmented, one swipe is enough!

Filter (Glow matte): Luminous cornflower blue. This was a bit sheer, required about 2-3 layers for complete coverage!

*Marsh (Glow matte): Mossy grey-green! Pigmented, one layer is enough to achieve full opacity!

*Mustard (Creamy matte): The color of corduroy! Pigmented, but not as pigmented as Pigeon and Marsh! Required 2 layers for full opacity!

swatches L-R: Fly, Jam, Mud, Boot
*Fly (Pearl): Ivory/green green shift, like the wing of a fly. Gorgeous shade!

*Jam (Creamy matte): Pumpkin spice creamy matte. LOVE this shade to death, such a stunning and pigmented rusty orange! 2 coats for full opacity

*Mud (Creamy matte): Rich burgundy brown, the color of spoiled fruit. Another favourite of mine despite less than stellar formulation! Required 2 coats for full opacity and was a tad tough to blend but it can still be blended out (extra effort lol)

Boot (Sparkle matte): Nebula black with multi-color sparkle. My least favourite, just because I don't really use black in my looks!

Below is a look I used some shadows (2 only sorry) to create! I have more but I can't find them! I will update when I do!

Mustard in crease, Marsh on lid + lower lash line
Overall, I really recommend this palette, unless you're bugged by Limecrime scandals haha! It was a super great purchase for me because this is my go-to palette! (neutrals aren't really my thing haha) Alright, thanks for reading this review! More reviews to come, I hope! Have a great day wherever you are! Love you lots!
